Fundamentals of Medical Interpreting
The Fundamentals of Medical Interpreting, a multi-session comprehensive course developed in partnership with the UMASS Medical School, is designed for the bilingual health and social service workforce to prepare employees to provide effective interpretation in health care and social service settings. This is based upon the current standards in the field, including interpreter roles, ethics, medical terminology, and professional protocols. The entire 60 hour course can be delivered virtually, in-person, or a combination. The course is generally delivered over a 15 week period with a minimum of 4 hours of weekly class time.
